Rockpool boulders
Stoneware ceramic forms.
Initially inspired by the dramatic, turtle-shell forms of the Moeraki Boulders in New Zealand, these ceramic sculptures have gradually taken on echoes and traces of Northumberland, Northern England and Scottish land and coastscapes.
Rockpool Boulders, sometimes referred to as Haiku Boulders emerged from a collaborative project with writer and artist collaborator, Sue Spencer, who wrote a number of ‘haiku’ poems/thoughts in response to the ideas behind my boulder forms, these beautiful, thought-provoking haiku by Sue (and some of my own) are now integral to the artworks and are printed into the leather-hard clay by hand, letter by letter, using metal letterpress. Prices from £50.
